Instructions For Your New Theme and Template Set....

This web template is designed to accommodate a wide variety of browser resolutions.  While a resolution of 800 x 600 has now become the standard, there are still some who view their pages at 640 x 480. Keep that in mind if you add extra images that would exceed the table width.  This package has been tested in both Internet Explorer 4 and 5 and Netscape 4. It has not been tested using Netscape 6.

By using this template you shouldn't have any trouble creating a new web. All the extra images are automatically inserted in their proper places. All that you have to do is add your own text and add or delete any pages to make this web uniquely yours.

How to change a page name:

There are already many pages within this web. In the navigation view, right-click on the page and select "Rename". Type in the name you prefer, remembering to keep it short! You can then switch to the "Folders" view to change the "htm" name to match.

How to add a new page:

Click on the folders view button to the left of your screen.  Locate the newpage.htm page and make a copy (Control + C then Control + V).  Right click on the new page to rename it.

To add your page to the navigation view, click on the navigation view.  Next click on the folders list button (white and blue icon below the word "format" at the top of your screen).    Locate your new page in the folders view.  Now drag your new page into position in the navigation view.  Open the page and add your content.

(Warning:  If you delete the page from the web, it will be gone.  There is no "are you sure you want to delete this page" message!)

Navigation:

If you add a level of pages below the current ones, you will probably have to modify the navigation bars. Just right-click on them to highlight the structure and then you can modify the properties. Depending upon your needs, you can set the bars at various levels throughout the web site. You can also switch from "Buttons" to "Text". This will activate the style sheet which uses "A:hover properties" for the mouse-over effect.

Specialized Help Pages:

We've added some specialized tutorial pages to our Customer Help Center.  These pages will help you modify tables, navigation bars and buttons, any of the special images such as the page logo, and other elements within your web template.

How to delete a page from this web:

Open your web and press the Navigation button in the toolbar to the left. You will now be looking at this web's navigation structure in the top panel and the folders and files in the bottom panel. Right-click on the page that you want to remove and select Delete. Then select the option to "Remove Page From Front Page Web."

Once your page is removed from the navigation view, you will need to add text links to your main pages.  Since the page is no longer connected to the main site by the navigation buttons, you will need to type in text links by hand.  It is generally recommended that you add text links to your major areas:  home page, catalog section, site map, etc.  Once your visitor gets back to one of these pages, they can easily find their way using your normal button links.
